When I was in elementary and middle school, I invented several fictional animal characters and wrote short children's books about them. Some of my teachers became fascinated by this and a few friends began joining in as well. I figured, being several years later I’d better bring the characters all back for a blog and explain them to our MMOC followers. The stories became a little less appropriate over the years I was making them, but we’ll keep everything friendly this time. I’ll introduce the gang one by one:
Junior the Groundhog - The main protagonist in my early writings, he was your average groundhog who happened to live with a penguin and had a younger sister named Apple Juice. Junior was the best and most important character in the series and made his debut in 1994. Freddy the Penguin - Junior’s penguin lived with him, and over the years it became ambiguous as to what they actually were to each other. I was a really strange kid. Freddy was the worst character in the series and routinely died. The Ox - No, not the Who’s bass player, but a member of a gaggle or herd of oxen who occasionally made an appearance in the Junior stories. I got kicked out of my seventh grade math class one day for drawing the Ox on the board. That’s a story for another day. Wally the Walrus - Wally rarely made an appearance but the fact that he even existed was pretty awesome. Everyone loved him and he tended to get the women. Cheese Cake - Junior’s childhood friend who happened to be a dinner dessert... It was strange that all of the other characters were animals while Cheese Cake was a slice of cheesecake. But he proved to be one of the most popular characters. He’s still alive today. If you’d ever like me to draw one of these characters, it will cost you. -Tyler
